Employee Referral Program

UMC, Inc is always looking for good people, and you can help.

Research has shown, and our own experience supports, that new hires who come into a company through employee referrals are excellent contributors, stay with the company longer and are a more cost effective recruit.

That’s where you come in!

If you know someone who would be a good addition to UMC and they meet the qualifications for an existing open position, you could be awarded up to $1,000 if you refer them for employment. As an additional bonus, the new hire will receive an award of $150 when they reach 6 months of employment.
Refer candidates who meet the qualifications to Human Resources using one of the attached referral cards. If your candidate is hired, you will receive payment of your award after they complete their first 90 days of employment!

Rewards are as follows

Foreman – $1000
Journeyman – $750
3rd-4th Year Apprentice – $500
0-2nd Year Apprentice – $250

Click the card below to download a referral sheet that you can print and hand out to great potential prospects. They can turn the card in when interviewed to enter you in for a possible reward.

To be eligible for an award, the referral card must be submitted with new hire paperwork at the time of job interview.
Only candidates who meet the essential qualifications for the position will be considered.

All Foreman and Journeyman candidates must have a current State License in order to receive the full amount of the award.
Apprentices must already have or receive a State license within the first 90 days of employment.
All candidates will be evaluated for employment consistent with UMC policies and procedures.
All information regarding the hiring decision will remain strictly confidential.
Once hired, candidate must complete 90 days of employment in good standing free from any policy or procedure violations (such as safety, quality control and attendance issues).
The first employee to refer a candidate will be the only employee eligible for payment.
The referring employee must still be employed by UMC during the hired candidate’s first 90 days of employment in order to receive payment.
Any disputes or interpretations of the program will be handled through Human Resources.
